Freelance Writer and Blogger
Tara Lynne Groth is a full-time freelance writer in North Carolina. An SEO writer in Raleigh, she uses traditional audience-focused strategies mixed with progressive Web 2.0 and mobile tactics when writing search engine-optimized web content. She started moonlighting as a freelancer in 2009 and resigned from life as a 9-to-5 marketing manager a year later. She has a decade of marketing experience and spent six years working in real estate.
Today Tara Lynne is quick to offer clients insight on the latest online search algorithm changes. She is a requested speaker at writers conferences and presented top blogging practices in 2013 at the Times Square headquarters of the American Society of Journalists & Authors.
Tara Lynne has over a decade of experience writing for newspapers and magazines. Her freelance magazine articles appear in dozens of markets, including AirTran Airways’ GO Magazine, Blue Ridge Outdoors and Draft. Her features usually develop from extraordinary people, places, or experiences she discovers, like an artist who creates art for the blind, dog GPS systems, and kayaking at night. She uses her editor and media contacts to help clients and authors secure guest spots on radio shows, be featured as experts in articles, and secure speaking engagements.
Starting a career as a writer requires lengthy research. Tara Lynne instructs courses on how to become a freelance writer, author marketing, and facilitates creative writing workshops in North Carolina through two groups she founded: Triangle Writers and Asheville Writers. She is also co-organizer of Raleigh's largest group of poets, Living Poetry. She donates significant time and resources to literary festivals like Raleigh's poetrySPARK and Asheville's Wordfest. In 2012, she donated a week of her time re-building frost-heaved boardwalks at a National Wildlife Refuge in Maine through a volunteer vacation with the American Hiking Society. Cumulatively, she has volunteered over 2,000 hours. She donates to multiple charities annually.
Tara Lynne stays a step ahead on every project. She left high school a year early to study advertising and career writing at Johnson & Wales University. She received her bachelor’s degree from Stony Brook University when she was 19.
Tara Lynne is the author of three poetry books and the first (and only) guidebook to the Bonnaroo Music Festival. She has written over 1,600 blogs, more than 150 articles, and has never missed a deadline.
